Our Artisan Journey
The journey of Varsha Handicraft is deeply rooted in the personal story of its founder, Varsha J. Odhayani. Started the journey from Mandvi, Kutch. Varsha herself is a skilled hand embroidery artisan, having honed her craft from a young age. Varsha began her craft work from her home in Mandvi, where she started by creating beautiful hand-embroidered pieces, reflecting the intricate craftsmanship of Kutch.
Driven by a vision to expand her reach and share the rich cultural heritage of Kutch with a wider audience, Varsha moved to Gandhinagar. It was here that "Varsha Handicraft" was officially born. This homegrown brand quickly became known for its dedication to traditional techniques, contemporary designs, and sustainable practices. Varsha’s journey from a small town artisan to the founder of a recognized brand is a testament to her skill, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her craft.
Each collection from "Varsha Handicraft" is a reflection of Varsha’s personal journey and her deep respect for the artisans who continue to practice these age-old techniques. Through her brand, Varsha not only celebrates the rich textile traditions of India but also empowers the artisan communities by providing them with sustainable livelihoods and the recognition they deserve.
At the heart of "Varsha Handicraft" is our commitment to empowering artisans. We believe that by supporting artisan communities, we can help preserve traditional crafts and provide sustainable livelihoods. Our partnerships with artisans are based on fair trade principles, ensuring that they receive fair wages and work in safe conditions.
We invest in skill development and training programs, helping artisans to enhance their techniques and adapt to modern market demands. By fostering a collaborative and supportive environment, we aim to uplift the artisan communities and create a positive impact on their lives.
